Sentara Healthcare Named Recipient of The Jackson Group Laureate Award for Workplace Excellence

Sentara Healthcare, located in Norfolk, Virginia, has been named a recipient of The Jackson Group's prestigious Laureate Award for Workplace Excellence. Alan Jackson, President of The Jackson Group, presented the award to system leadership on Monday, March 3, 2008 at Sentara's Corporate Office.

"We are very excited to be honored by The Jackson Group with their Laureate Award," said David Bernd, CEO, Sentara Healthcare. "It is extremely important to the leadership of the system and its Board of Trustees that we provide our employees with a rewarding work environment."

The Laureate Award for Workplace Excellence was awarded to Sentara Healthcare based on the 2007 Members if the Team Survey results that exemplified evidence in accordance with The Jackson Group's criteria. Workplace Excellence was demonstrated in areas such as employee survey participation, communications, overall satisfaction and willingness to recommend Sentara for patient acre. Sentara has been engaged in this measurement process with The Jackson Group on an annual basis since 2000.
