"We are very excited to be honored by The Jackson Group with their Laureate Award," said Bryant R. Hanson, CEO of Floyd Memorial. "It is extremely important to the leadership of the hospital, and its Board of Trustees, that we provide our associates with a safe and rewarding work environment. This honor indicates that we are headed in the right direction."

The Laureate Award for Workplace Enhancement was awarded to Floyd Memorial based on Work Climate Survey results that exemplified significant imporvement in accordance with The Jackson Group's criteria. The Jackson Group, along with the hospital's leadership team and input from its associates, developed an action plan for 2005 and 2006 to change the culture of the organization. Work Climate Surveys were conducted in 2004 and 2005 to measure improvements in the work climate and plan for further action areas in need of continued focus.

The results of the 2005 survey were evidence of efforts made by Floyd leadership to invest in the human capital of their healthcare organization by making sound management decisions that have been well received by both associates and managers. Through these efforts, it is apparent that leadership has built a very positive work climate.
